Operation Wipe Out, Alabama’s statewide effort to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem, leads the way to the creation of a national plan to eliminate cervical cancer.
Alabama is the first and only state with a plan to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem. This statewide effort has led to a national effort with the creation of a Cervical Cancer Elimination Work Group of which I am a member. While the workgroup remains in its organizational stage, there is already great enthusiasm for this initiative. My presentation will focus on the role of Rotarians in Alabama’s efforts to date and on the ways in which Rotarians can make a difference in this effort.
Gay is an attorney and also the wife of Past RI President Mark Maloney.
